In the first section o f this department, grouped under appropriate headings, are included the advertisements and business cards o f firms and individuals desiring to make a com plete presentation o f their products or services, fo llo w in g this is the Classified Business Section, w hich embraces a list o f the names and addresses o f all business and professional con cerns o f the city. The B uyer’s G uide represents advertising at its best, and merits the attention o f all buyers and sellers seeking sources olf supply or markets for goods. In a busy and diversified com m unity like Salt Lake City and South Salt Lake City, the necessity d f h aving this kind o f in form ation up— to— date and always im mediately available, is obvious. The D irectory is the com m on in term ediary between buyer and seller, and plays an im portant role in the daily activities o f the com mercial, industrial and professional w orld. II. THE AL PH A B E TIC A L LIST OF N AM ES o f residents, business and professional concerns is the second m ajor department, printed on white paper. This D irectory aims to show the name, marital status, occupation, and address o f each adu lt resident o f Salt Lake City and South Lake City, and the name, official personnel, nature, and address o f each firm and corporation in the city. III. TH E DIRECTORY OF HOUSEHOLDERS, INCLUDING STRE ET A N D A V E N U E GUIDE, is the third m ajor departm ent, printed on green paper. In this section, the num bered streets are arranged in n um erical order, follow ed by the nam ed streets in alphabetical order; the numbers o f the residences and business concern s are arranged in num erical order under the nam e o f each street, and the names o f the householders and concerns are placed opposite the num bers. The names o f the in tersecting streets appear at their respective crossing points on each street. Special features o f this section are the designation o f ow ner occu pied homes, the listing o f telephone numbers, new householder symbols and Zip Codes. IV. THE NUM ER IC AL TELEPH ONE D IRECTORY is the fourth m ajor departm ent, printed on blue paper. C om m u n ity P u b licity Th e City D irectory reflects th e achievem ents and ambitions o f th è com m unity, depicting in unbiased terms w hat it has to offer as a ^iaCej° * resiaence’ as a business location, as a resort center, as a m an u factu rin g site and as an educational center.
