Show -57- Sa.TllIIl.ie and ..;stella McLellan concluded t0 try married life so they were mar.ried Oct 9, 1906. Oct. 15 John has rented a nice little brick house 2 rooI:1S at Juarez. Sammie qnd .E:s:tella have a 11ice large room to live in and a nice start for young folks. J .D. Smithson Jr. came to Woodruff, started Dec. 1st, had storms all the way there. Ed. and Byrum was at Globe, .Arizona. We arrived at Wood- ruff all right and got my mother house to live in. Ed. came from Globe just a few d~ys before Christmas , also Samnie and John came :from Juarez. Stayed a few days then went back to 'J"uarez, Mex. In ?.!arch 190? we moved to Fort Apache, ~izona an.d did laundry work for solq,iers. Also put a crop in that year r:nd sold lots of melons. Raised our own ·potatoes and lots of other gard en stuff, stuck in the fall • .d:dward, toqk about 2 tons of cabbage to sell. Sammie and Estella went to Salt Lake eity in to gc through the temple and have their endowment s. Their baby was about 3 c onths old, born in June 29th, 1907. Noined Elzina Ruth. Sh e was _quite sick on the road to Salt Lakq City and Sammie wa s sick while they were there too. The y came back in November 8, 1907. On Christmas 190? the comnandin g officer of the post invited the children to come to their entertainm ent Christmas Zve anl there _· would be something on the tree for them. They all got a nice l.i ttl e Present on their tree. Then came home and had a present on their tree, at hone. It was rather a lovely Xmas but we all were well and had a good ride Z..m.as day too, besides_ a good family dinner. Mar. They have been wa shing for over a huna.red men lately. My bro. had to bring his son Burr over here to the - hospital to have his hand cleansed as he hud run a piece of oose in it and blood poison set in. He has had to have his front fin ger ta.1<:en off. 1:ar. 18 - We ha d another son born. Nice plump boy making our 10th boy and 17th child. 1i1ar. 29. All well and planting a crop of potatoes today.
