I guess .John und Sam were in Arizona when I wTote last, but they came back the fore part of January and since then .John has been back to .arizona two or three . time . to see about the law suit he had with the .l..ztec Land am Cattle Co., about th.e water he had owned and filed on his homestead'. But they say mo_n ey will . do most anything so the company had the money and he lost ev~rything. It made us feel q_ui te bad to lose so much when '.-JG \tera needing •i t so bad. ' ' Stella, .Johns sister, cume back with him that fall and stayed with us three months. We certainly enjoyed her visit. Ve were running an ice cream stand ~Jhile she ~·ms here. ;;e also run a butcher shop and another store 111n .Juarez. ?le bought another home ·" iri Juarez, a fine brick home. San:rmie took his wife and went hack ,.,.•' ·to where my folks hacl moved to Ft. Apache , Arizona, and they run the laundry for the soldiers ther0 for quite a while and n1,;1.de q_ui ·te a bit out of it. 'I'hen Sammi 0 ::: nd Estella came back to Juarez in septemt;er 1908 · and took care of their fruit which was sure plentiful. we certainly put u_p a lot of fruit, but now since r,e have moved over here we certainly tave eat most &11 of it. we have had fairly good health up till ·the ti::,e my baby girl was born, except the childrGn having ·the measles , chicken pox and mumps. Well Wo.llace was very sick 1;i th inflamation of the bowels. But our sweet baby girl came to us at last. She was born on the 9th of Novonber 1908 and was ble ss(~d and named Ellen SO_phia November 16, vJ:ien she \vas 7 days old, by the President of the Stake, Junius Romney. She is such a cute little fat doll all the ti :·,e. Considering my sickness I never did get entirely well, was sick' so much of the time until we moved over here to ~JtOr~las, .
