On the next two rounds he picks up another diamond and the five of hearts. Jackson has the beginnings of a snail straight showing: the three and four of diamonds and the six of clubs. I'o one else seens to have much of anything. "Bet the fives," says Armstrong. "Three dollars," says John Henry. "Cne for each of them fives." Everyone drops except Armstrong, who has nothing much showing, and Jackson. On the next round Armstrong gets no help and Jackson pairs his sixes. "Sixes bet," says Tucson John, gathering up the discards and getting ready to deal. "Bet the straight, you mean," says John Henry. "It's only a small one," says Jackson. "Five dollars." "Last card," says Armstrong. "Down and dirty." |
