Show Part V Delhi and Agr "N Delhi, more than fifty years ago, according to governmental reports, th latest information that has been compiled, there were eight individua handmade paper mills, emploing one hundred and fifty-five workers, Thi sam repor list Lahor a havin fifty-nin mills wit tw hundre loye and Multan with three hundred and seventeen artisans workin employecs in fifty-two separate mills. From these figures it is assumed that in Delhi havmg cight mills with one hundred and fifty-five workers, ca umber of vats, as the figureswould give about twenty artisans for each mill in Lahore and Multan there would hav be n only four to six men fo the operation of cach establishment, xhnwing that there was but one va in each mill. Upon visits to Lahore and Multan we found that in both o s our of searching in cluttered nooks and out-of-the-way courts we finally foun the old-fashioned stationery shop of Mr. Dhoomi Mal Dharam Das, w was to be our guide to the last remaining handmade paper mill of Ol Delhi.
