Show Nearly all human development brings with it unwanted pollutants. For example, poor use of irrigation water may make soil too salty to grow crops. If water flows off fields that have been heavily fertilized, the runoff may be polluted with fertilizers and weed killers. Many lakes and rivers in Utai are sick because of human pollutants. Bear Lake and Jordan River are examples of waters that are getting better because of pollution control. Water pollution comes in many forms. Fortunately, most of the waste water from Utah towns and cities is treated. Wastewater treatment plants remove pollutants from the water. dan l^ ver tiew waste water Ireatmenr plants 16 |
