Show Page 5 ADYN CORPORATION Adyn produces a 1024 by 1024 pixel frame buffer for which a single memory plane costs a relativelj modet $2700. We have limited information on this company's products, but ·it has been noted that a 60 Hertz (i.e. non-interlaced) video monitor is produced for $10,000. There is, however, some question as to the availability of 8 bit digital-to-analog converters in the frame buffer system. COMTAL CORPORATION Comtal produces a 512 by 512 frame buffer with a maximum configuration of 24 memory planes, a standard 8 bit color map is provided for pseudo color. An interesting feature is the availability of either CCD or RAM memory. The company's "Vision I" uses an LSI-II microprocessor and ROM firmware to support the following features: Zoom, minification, split-screening, and cursors Plane to plane pagination High-speed histogramming and dynamic range matching High-pass filtering pecially conatructed two-dimensional convolutions The basic 24 bit system sells for approximately $60,000. An 8 bit video digitizer is available for $4,000. |
