Show Page 4 6. Programmable mapping of frame buffer to video output to allow for true or pseudo color 7. Hardware zoom, pan, and scroll to permit close inspection of the image 8. Video digitizing capability to permit real input to the device 9. High speed access to color map (see number 6) to rewrite map within one frame time 10. End of frame interrupt to allow for program srnchronization 11. Versatile instruction set to reduce need for host computer processing 12. NTSC video compatibility and external synchronization to create video tapes. 13. Diagnostic software, complete user and service documentation, and a training course to facilitate our maintenance of the system 14. Vendor maintenance and warranty SURVEY RESULTS A summary of the survey is now presented. The reader should realize that the survey is far from complete and that the availability, cost, and design of frame buffer systems are highly variable quantities today. The detail with which each system is described here varies because the available commercial and technical literature varied in detail and because those systems which more closely met the above criteria were more deeply investigated. |
