Show INTERVIEW: Ramos P.age 23 MRS: Before, like you know, even here they treated the Mexicans, you know, for you were too scared to say somethi.ng, you know, because you know, like now you have somebody to go and say. well. Mexicans have some rights, you know, before you used to, because you were a Mexican, you didn't have any rights at all, they treated you ... the way they treated the kids and you couldn't say anything. BM: But now you can? MRS: Now ... yes ... like we have a cop here, you know, and like he not too long ago he said well, I am goi.ng to show the Mexicans that I am ... you know ... boss, and we were talk~ng about this, ecause that is the way he is, no matter what the other kids do, but he picks the Mexicans, he jus~ goes to the Mexicans you know. That's you know ... he could leave the other ones do things like that, but if he sees a Mexican, right away he goes and. BM: Have the Mexican people said anyth~ng about this stuff? MRS: Yes. we have been sign ... but we have to go down to Richards and. get a thing, mostly they don't want him to. . CL: What is his name? KT: Jim Roberts. BM: Has he been here lo_ng? MRS: No. |
