Show P UL W. LEVOR EN 21 P B R2 02 BB: Quite a busy time I guess. Lots of military activity? PWL: Yes. BB: How did the war end for you? You were in Florida when the war ended? PWL: Yes, and then from there, they sent me over to a place by Brigham City and there I was released. BB: Did they ask you if you wanted to stay in? PWL: Oh, yes, they offered to make me a corporal ifl stayed in (laughs). I said, no. I want to go home. BB: Okay. You had enough of that. What did you end up doing after the military, then? PWL: Well, my dad drove my mother, and I don't know, several others up to Brigham City and then .. .I don't remember what I did. BB: You said you did not continue in carpentry? PWL: Well, I thought I might, but I was mostly footloose and fancy free. BB: How about the GI Bill? Did you use that for anything? PWL: Yes, I went to Reneger's Business College for a while. Then I transferred up to the University and, oh, I went there a quarter and about flunked out (laughs). Then I didn't go back to the University till several years later. BB: Do you view you time in the military as a positive experience? PWL: I think it was positive. BB: Did you learn anything during your military that you would not have learned elsewhere? 25 |
