And I was there for a long long tim . nd then, money-wise, the groceries department would get automatic raises and we didn t n on the outside departments. And Albertson's comes in one day and would I like to come work for them? And they offered me two dollars an hour more. So I went to my boss and I says, "This is what's happening." "Oh, no, we don't want you to go" he says. "We'll give you the two dollars." So I stayed. Well, a lot of things happened. They were taking all my help away until I was doing it all myself, with one girl that would come in the afternoon. And it was getting so you could never take any time off, 'cause there was never anybody to-and it was becoming pretty bad deli-wise. So Albertson's came in again one time. And I thought, Well, I'll take the chance. I went over there. I hated it. BEC: ANN: BEC: ANN: Oh, really? I hated it. Oh. I worked on Albertson's on Redwood Road there. And one time one of the girls that used to work for me came in and she said, "Oh, we wish you would be back." And I said, "Well, you tell the manager, they ever have the chance that they want me back, I'm back." And he called me. BEC: Oh, really? ANN: "Would you come back?" And I said, "Yes I will!" So I gave my notice and I went back. And I went back there for quite a few years. And then they were going to close that one, talk was that they were going to close that one and build a new 39 |
