Show is the fact that the number of women and children cared for well exceeds that of the men. This probably has never before happened since the Hospital was built by the women of the Pacific Coast for the women and children of the Lintsing District. This report should not close without mention of the marvelous growth in spiritual life of the Chinese Christian leaders under this baptism of fire. They are finding the way thru Christ to "love their neighbor as themselves" and while they have lost wife, children, family, home, and country, they have found a deeper knowledge of the God of Love. Their faith is standing true, as they try to lead their people into the Kingdom of God. Dr. Cooke has been refugeeing in Tsingtao and Tientsin. She can always be reached through the Treasurer of the American Board Mission, Mr. A. C. Grimes, 53 Racecourse Road, Tientsin, China. Written in Tientsin, January 6th, 1938. - 13 - |
