Show PART EL VICTORY. In a day or two some minds were made up. Now the question faced us, "How help them to take the step at once?" No large shoes to put on, no time to make them, no one had made that kind, and they could not make nice-looking ones if they did have time. The New Year season was hurrying on with all its rush of work. An inopportune time it was indeed! Fortunately, I had one pair of shoes and stockings which, being too small for a woman elsewhere who had unbound her feet, had been sent back, and were just what was needed to start us on our new scheme.
