Show The strange dress of the women no longer seems strange to me. Even the bright colors of their clothing, especially of the children, seem most appropriate for them. One would think a group of women, most of whom wore dark blue garments, and had smooth, black, well oiled hair and black eyes, would look as much alike as peas, but they have as much individuality as we have. However, it was neither at clothes or even faces that I looked very much, but at their feet. My three helpers sat at one side. All have unbound feet. One of them is a girl who has finished the school in P'ang Chuang. Aside from two other women, all in the class were slaves to the custom of foot-binding.
