Show 28 Our very short Christmas vacation has been a pleasant one for me. I managed to get a glimpse of the Macartneys in Des Moines, a little visit with Annie Bell and Laura, which it is needless to say I enjoyed immensely. I don't believe I could stand it not to see any of the I. C. people. I most sincerely hope that the New Year may teach, us all to give more freely to others, the many helpful truths we learned at old I. C. Sincerely, Glenwood, Iowa. SARA M. NOLLEN. Dear Classmates:- Is it possible that dear old '98 has come and gone! Nothing has made me realize it more than the past week when others were groaning over "exams." With the relief was a feeling akin to sadness, I admit. Another thing to which it was very hard to become accustomed was that any other class after '98 could be seniors. Just to think of those 'ggers posing as seniors, it's absurd! But Iowa College seems to move right on just the same as ever, even though to us of '98 still here, there is something missing. Personally there is very little to tell-a class of private pupils, organ work with Professor Cole, a holiday trip to northern Iowa, and acting as nurse, have combined to keep one person out of mischief. It would be easier to talk of other resident members who are winning laurels as author and publisher, "wielding the rod," keeping up the scholarly reputation of the class, or making the home bright and cheerful, as the case may be. As before, we are having treats in the way of lectures and concerts. Carleton, Kavanagh and Roney's Boys |
