Show COLLEGIATE LIFE

SCHOOL NOTES

The Klick Klack's Klan.
As yet the faculty seem perfectly unaware of the existence of a band of blood-thirsty dames known as "The Klick Klack's Klan." On Saturday morning, February 4, between the hours of 12:30 and 3:00. G. M. (good morning) the nine members held high revelry in the north attic of Ferry hall. It was a strictly formal affair, all the girls appearing in "evening gowns." Their hair was combed in the latest evening fashion, being perfectly free from the misleading effect of rats, puffs and curls (except those which were undergoing the process of being curled for the morrow).
The menu was the regular one served at such affairs. Two of the members going after it and bringing it home in suit cases so that the ever-watchful eye of the faculty would think nothing more serious than a new dress was being brought within the "sacred portals."
Miss Furry probably wondered why there were only two of us at breakfast, but if she had of seen the way in which we made the "Eats and Drinks" disappear she would more than likely have wondered how we two managed it. Buff and Olive showed what condition their hearts were in by eating all the pickles and olives in sight.
Selma was afraid of being caught, and prayed for us to go down after she had made a great impression on the large pile of sandwiches and nearly brought the faculty on the [scene] by her loud demands for more.
Noodles Mork, who was staying all night with Pearl, and who had not come prepared for such an event, borrowed one of her hostess' evening gowns for the occasion. Considering that they are so nearly the same size this, of course, was not noticeably out of place.
Anna and Pearl were the most charming couple of the evening. They carried away the prize for being the fastest eaters, but being the long and short of it they could not decide whose room the trophy should be placed. This was rather hard to decide because they are so perfectly matched in strength that several wrestling feats came out ties. We decided to hang it on the light for a chandelier. The effect was so dazzling that Teresas's hair, which was on a curl paper, stood straight up and she has been unable to make it curl since. Hattie was there in that scarlet kimona [sic] of hers. It was rather breezy, but as she was there for effect only she would have frozen before she would let us think she was cold. Pansy and Frances, last but not greatest were there in full bloom. Being warmhearted, modern Pricillas, they were outwardly cold and had to take refuge inside a blanket. This, however,, did not hinder them from putting down the punch. The room and tables (which was made of two trunks) were very tastefully decorated with paper sacks ice cream freezers, and cracker boxes.
We were not caught, but it would have been more tragic if we had although we have not for a long time had so much to eat. However-
Here's to the future of the Klick Klack['s] Klan;
Never yet invaded by the presence of man-
We love to have feasts
We all will admit
But the slimness of our purses
Will sometimes not permit.

Oh, Oh!
I know a little country lass
Who blushes very red
When passing through the garden where
Sweet William lies in bed.

Her brother is about the same,
A very modest lad.
He won't go near a pond for fear
He'd see a lily pad.

Harry Hutchins wants a cure for bashfulness; he is so bashful that every time he "hears himself think" of a girl, he blushes.

|
