Show FY 1997 Funding Recommendations # 768 - Island Ditch Pipeline This project proposes to implement a pressurized pipe distribution system to replace the current flood irrigation system. The Island Ditch, which receives its water from Ashley Creek, will be piped and sprinkler irrigation systems will be installed on the individual farms. The project will be split into two systems. The west pipeline will pipe from the existing Thornburg Diversion to the Steinaker Service Canal. This will consist of 10,500 linear feet of PVC pipe. The east pipeline, consisting of approximately 15,500 linear feet of PVC pipe, will pipe from the Steinaker Service Canal to the end of the ditch. The two systems will serve approximately 1,200 acres. Estimated annual water conservation is 1,748 acre- feet. # 782 - Manti Pressurized Irrigation System Improvements The project proposes to implement improvements to the existing secondary irrigation system to allow 1,610 acres currently flood irrigated to be sprinkler irrigated. The primary components of the project include construction of new 24 inch diameter pipeline from Palisade Lake to serve lands north and west of Manti, expansion of the existing Quarry Field System, and management of surface and groundwater supplies with the use of reservoirs to facilitate exchanges. Projected annual water conservation equals 4,820 acre- feet peryear. 13 |
