Give me a statement of the number of young people in the Territory; the number in our Presbyterian schools, and the prospects of the near future. I need it in my preliminary work of securing an opening. In this letter to Robert G. McNiece, Sheldon Jackson is asking for more research on the need for Utah to have a Christian college. He needs the information in order to more properly ask for funding "for the institution," he writes. Sheldon Jackson played an important role in the founding of Sheldon Jackson College, the predecessor of Westminster College, in Salt Lake City, Utah. |
