These include drugs, equipment, and supplies of all sorts, salaries of native co-workers, including assistants, nurses, and evangelists. It is no less than a marvel that a hospital of this size can be operated on less than five dollars a day. HOSPITAL WORK. Our duties include care of women and children, (hitherto greatly neglected), all varieties of medical and surgical cases, cure of opium habitues, an optical department, and care of pupils in our church-schools,-some of this being dispensary service, but the hospital in-patients affording the most satisfactory clientele. CONTINUATION COMMITTER CONFERENCE RESOLUTION: /'Medical Missions are to be regarded not simply as an expedient for opening the way for, and extending the influence of the gospel, but as an integral, coordinate, and permanent part of the missionary work of the Christian Church, and as continuing the work of our Lord in the double capacity of healer and teacher. The rapidly changing conditions in China, as well as the rapid advance in medicine and surgery at home, are calling loudly for better medical work, increased facilities, larger force, and a necessarily larger expenditure of money."
