Abstract Matern (b. 1923) was drafted into the army in May 1943 and attended basic training at Camp Callan. He was stationed at Twyford, England, and later served at Bretel Friara Creamery in France. He received the bronze star prior to his discharge in July 1945. Interviewed by Frances Merrill. 22 pages.
