Show THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research (UCUR) The First Annual Utah Conference on Undergraduate Research was held February 2, 2007 at the Olpin Union Building on the University of Utah campus. Students from the 11 institutions of higher education in the state of Utah presented their research through oral, poster and performance sessions. There were over 190 presentations, involving 277 students across the disciplines. It was an honor for the University of Utah to host the first conference. UCUR 2008 will be held at Utah Valley State College, co-sponsored with BYU on February 29, 2008. We would like to thank Governor Huntsman, Senator Jake Garn and Noelle Cockett for taking time to speak to our student presenters and faculty. We would also like to thank President Young for his words of encouragement and support. The UCUR Steering Committee, the University of Utah Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program and the Office of Undergraduate Studies should also be recognized for the time and effort to organize this first successful event. Finally, we thank the students who are changing the world with their discoveries. 114 |
