Coached by able Charley Welch and captained by Jack Clayton, Utah began a successful season with a 58-26 triumph over their only state rivals, Utah A. C. Leading the victorious drive were Ralph Huber and Mower in the breast stroke, Fox in the free style, and Hofer in the back stroke event. Division laurels were won when Utah again downed the Aggies, 64 to 41. A new record in the 400 yard relay of 3:54.6 was the meet highlight. In a post season clash, the Utes tied San Jose State, 42-42. Five first places, Clayton in the 440 free style, Kurmada in the 100, Dalton in the dives, and both relay events, gave the crimson paddlers a deadlock with their coast rivals.
