Show I. Kinasl ". . fifty-six years of service. Jieon THE SECRETARY •' Assistant secretary since 1929, Mr. Garrett assumed duties as University secretary in 1935 on the death of the late Thomas Hull. Thoroughly qualified to handle the numerous responsibilities constantly confronting the office, Mr. Garrett is official bursar, purchasing agent, and secretary to the Board of Regents. Efficient execution of these diversified tasks has earned Secretary Garrett high praise from leading university officials. aslmtu PRESIDENT EMERITUS • Since the days of the now abandoned Deseret University, oldster Joseph T. Kingsbury has taken active part in affairs of the University of Utah. Following retirement from the presidency of this institution in 1916, Dr. Kingsbury was awarded the honorary title of President-Emeritus in grateful recognition for fifty-six years of service. Precedent of naming campus buildings for former presidents, in 1929, was extended to him in the dedication of Kingsbury Hall. his tasks-many and perplexing." 22 |
