Show Uinta CTouncil, 13. treaty. My friend, you are a good man, but I don't want you to talk to us about opening our reservation. I want to hold our reservation and ke ep it for ever from the White people. We want to keep white people off r,the reservation. This is the Indian1 s land. There is only one land heae and that is the Indian's land and it belongs to -the Indians. This reservation here was put aside for the Indians, and here now, is a school house for the children to be educated in. . Thi3 reservation wa3 not put here for nothing. It was put here by a chief from Washington. It was not for nothing that he was sent here to make this reservation, and he was a war chief. For some time past it was not good here,- but since this new Agent came, I feel happy and my heart is good. It was not good when Myton wa3 Agent here. Myton let the White men come here, and I think it was Myton who let the sheep men lease the reservation. You are our friend. You come to bring us news and we want you to let it end now, We dont want to listen to that kind of talk, we don't want this reservation opened, and we do not want White people coming in among us. Before we had this new Agent, they had a talk like this and I am the only one left that talked that time. E®re are the Uncompaghrenlndians here and the White River Indians, and the Uinta Indians and we want to hold our reservation. Thare is a line grom. here on the top of those mountains where the Indians living on the reservation can go Any place, xand that Is good.
