Show Uinta Council, 6. understand, I want you to ask me any questions you wish. -r^re is a gentleman "who is taking down erery word I say and every word you may say will be recorddd by him, and I will leave a copy of all our talk here with your Agent. The other copy will be sent by me to the Secretary, and the Secretary will read all we say. If any of you should forget what I say you can call at the Agent1s office and the Agent can show you the copy he will have there. I do not want to say too much to day so that you might forget or get mixed, so I think we had better adjourn till tomorrow at ten o'clock, and I hope you will be able to tell me then what you think of the proposition. I want you to stay here at the Agency and your Agent will furnish you with something to eat. You should not go home for two or three day3 yet,, but come in here every day to talk with me. As I said in the beginning, this is a matter of great importance and I hope you will be patient, if you wi3h to ask any questions I will listen to them, or if you wish to talk together first I am ready to comply with your wish. Tim Johnson:- We wouibd liket»meet some place, and we want to all talk together next Sunday. Inspector McLaughlin:- That is too long to wait. I dont want to hurry you and I want to explain everything fully as questions may arise, and you should stay here so that I can explain everything you do not un~ derstand clearly, then you can go where you choose and council as much as you wish. Tim Johnson: There are more Indians than we have here now and we want to see them about it. , |
