Ruysdae appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century with the caption: "O paper made from straw alone by M. K oops, 1800. ‘Although the books by Koops are the most modern volumes to be e‘numerated in this bibliography, the life and character of Matthias K oop remains the most obscure of any of the scientistslisted. "This book was dedicated to the Duke of York, while the three editions o the work regarding paper were dedicated to George the Third Mr. Koops was the first man in England to be successful with materia other than rags for papermaking.
