Show 5 For some days the photographer had been msking inquiry of those familisr with the region asking to be directed to man aroh somewhere beyond Fallen Rook Aroh in the DevilGarden At length the packer said 11 take you to that tomorrow Bright and early for it was in the latter part of February when the sun lies late in bed the start was made The photographer had already been twice to the DevilGarden which he had visited to getploture of rallen Rook Arch and when the packer took the same trail for about two andhalf miles the photographer thought he was going into DevilGar den possiblymile or two northwest of where he had been But when the packer turned off towarddeep rich buff colored bluff long studied in the glasses from comp the photographer said nothing thinking thet the out would be made over Salt Valley at any moment But no the paoker kept this s14e of the Tim of Salt Valley and did not oross it at all When the tent was pitohed he said Well we ll go orer and see 1t Witholding comment the photographer silently rode alon wousd about through beautiful material past Venus Goblet around the edge of The FINGERS pst the southwest tip of KLONDIKE BLUFF through NARROW PASSAGE and there suddenly appearedgreat TOWER ARGH Why man alive this isnDevilGarden-this is out of the area Itgood but We havengot 1t True When the surveyor ran the boundary lines el of Klondike Bluff with beautiful Tower Arch and all the area il contains was not within the monument ares Here was some of the best material in miles and it was left outl Digital image 2003 Beckwith Family Al rights reserved |
