Show £~:^/3 THE INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDY PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY I am attaching an application for housing reservations for the coming academic year. The Institute for Advanced Study maintains a Housing Project adjacent to the Institute for members and their familiese These garden-type apartments range from one room with bath and kitchenette for single members to one, two and three bedroom units for families0 Except for the one room units, each apartment consists of living room with dining area, a smaller room designed for a study and the bedrooms and bath. In addition, we have ten older apartments in the vicinity of the Institute<> The rents range from $60*00 for single room units to $110,00 for the largest apartments in the newer houses, and from $75>oOO to $95.00 for the limited number of older apartments, A great deal of thought and expense has been put into the furnishing of the apartments; in order to ensure their proper care, we shall require a deposit in the amount of two months rent, payable at the time of arrival and returnable in full at the time of departure, if there has been no damage beyond normal wear. All of the apartments are completely furnished,, Members are, therefore, requested not to bring their own furniture <> There are several reliable warehouses in and near Princeton where arrangements can be made to store furniture if it proves necessary to move it from your present home0 While we do not supply housekeeping items such as linens, blankets, dishes, silverware or kitchen utensils, we do keep on hand a limited supply of these household items for members coming from abroad so that they need not ship such housekeeping items. There is a local linen supply house where sheets, pillowcases and towels can be rented at low cost for families who do not care to bring their own with them. We also keep a limited number of vacuum cleaners which may be borrowed for cleaning, and returned to the supply rooiru Our project includes a completely equipped central laundry with automatic washers and driers for the use of members and their familieso The kitchens cannot accomodate home laundry equipment» Please do not bring it* |
