G. \B\te oir: Since receiving the above cited letter dated Ilovember 8, 1924 and 3igned by the Commissioner, the Superintendent had quite a long visit with McCook, half-brother of Chipeta, regarding the removal of her body from its present resting place to a more suitable spot. The idea seemed to meet v/ith McCookTs approval froaa the start and he suggested that her body be taken to a point two miles east of Montrose, Colorado, where Chief Curay made a home for Chipeta many years ago. If it does and telegraphic instructions are issued the duty can be performed mu-h more easily as the body is buried well up in the mountains. |
