Show College of Science The College of Science includes the four academic departments of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Each of these departments has as a primary responsibility that of educating students in basic science. In teaching their disciplines, faculty members of the College try to impart a sound understanding of scientific principles, a realization that science is a developing structure, and an appreciation of some of the inter-relations between science, philosophy, and technology. The college also stresses the desirability of a broad and rounded education and encourages students to develop understanding not only in the science disciplines, but also in liberal studies. The faculty is active in scientific research and a variety of research programs are constantly under way in each department. The research contributions of faculty and students advance the enterprise of science and thus help to fulfill scholarly and national objectives.
