Note |
The University of Utah has made former and current yearbooks from various campus entities available in print and via its digital library archive. These documents contain facts and milestones about the history of the University of Utah. In some cases, these publications contain insensitive and offensive language and imagery that does not represent the views or values of the University of Utah. Insensitive and offensive portrayals of race and gender were wrong at the time these publications were originally printed, and they are wrong today. The yearbooks are presented as they were originally created and have not been edited or censored-to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices and biases never existed. - July 2019 |

OCR Text |
Show Director F. W. Reynolds THE EXTENSION DIVISION ADULTS are more and more becoming aware that they have a claim upon the University for opportunities to continue their learning. Through its Extension Division, the University is trying to meet this obligation. The courses given cover a wide range; the enrollment numbers more than three thousand students. The informal extension service includes lectures, surveys, conferences, and other welfare projects in which the strength and influence of the University may be of value. Lectures, especially, reach large numbers of citizens. Scattered individual students are reached by mail. Education is inherent in expanding life. For life expanded into adulthood any education of one's youth is inadequate, especially in the changing times of today. WHY STOP LEARNING? This is the slogan that the Extension Division of the University has used more than any other as it has put its work under way this year. F. W. Reynolds. Page 48 |
