Show t Rock Springs, Ga. June 12, 1877 Came ove! to the Widow Park's and spent part of the day in talking to the Widow on pri nciple. Aft,er dinner came up to Mr. Smi~-h 's and stopped an hour . or so. From there to the Boyd's and talked with him and his wife some length of time. Went over to Mr. Byrums and stopped over night. (Brother L. quite unwell) Talked until nearly 11 o'clock to Mr. & Mrs. Bryum and Mrs. Gill who gave close attention. A. good spirit among them. Rock Springs June 14, 1877 , Returned to the P. 0. by way of.Mr. Smith, where we had dinner and a long talk. From there to the, office where-I got few letters, one from Mflli~, came over to Mrs. Park's, wrote a letter or two and stayed all night. Went to Wilbourne for dinner. After dinner we hitched up and went some miles across the country to make an appointment at Mr. Joshua Herron's , which we did f~r Sunday at 11 A.M. Returned and stayed all night at Wm. Key's. Raining this morning. Pretty hard and dull. Rock Springs June 15, .1877 Came over to Martin Boyd and stayed all night. a good lot of mulberry~ to eat as 'we eame along the road. Byrum and Mr. Boyd. Slow work, I think. Rock Springs, Ga. June 20, 1877 Rained hard all day. Talked some with Mr. , Oa the 16th toQk a trip about the co· ntry toward Chicamauga Battle Field, had dinner at Mr. Faniaes who qharged us one dollar. Stayed all ·night at Jas. Smith's. 16th we came down to Mrs. Park's and wrote .and read during the day. Sunday morning went 5 miles and. held meeting near Mr. Hearn's. Had dinner at his sons', a Campbellite preacher. In the afternoon held meeting at Rock Springs. A good feeling stayed all night with Mr. Welbourn. Monday afternoon we took a trip down near LaFayette to get a letter of mine which I found was from mother. Stayed all night at Mr . Byrum. Bro. L. suffering. from Rheumatism. Tuesday I ·went to the office and got some letters. Stayed allnight at Byrums'. Wednesday noon we are at Mrs. Park's for dinner. Good feeling. Cedar Grover, Ga. June 22, ·1877 Drove down to Mr. Cooper's after dinner and talked awhile.· From there to Uncle Jas. R. Jones' tannery Got some tacks and posted up a circular ·of a meeting for Sunday the 24th. Stayed all night at Jas Wilborn's. Thursday . morning drove over to Mrs. Parks. Obtained the Voice of Warning and left it with Dr. Jones. Drove from there to ·Price Conlay in the Cove stopped over night and · ··~- made arrangements to preach at school house Sunday, 1st July. Came on to this point, and are stopping with the Widow of Daniel Stout, a good spirit. Rock Springs, Ga. June 23, 1877 l Returned from the Cove this morning. ,Had dinner at Wellborn's. Got th~ buggy fixed. Came over to Mrs. Park's. Got our clothing. Came over to Byrum' .s. His wife gone from home on our account. Bound wheat awhile. Stayed all night. Some pistols fired near the house after night. Ha |
