Show Grace Tasake nd s1:9 S With the newspaper, did your father have alot of people that would come and ~lk with him about things other than the newspaper? GT I wouldn't know. I imagine they did. Because he probably was - He knew a lot of people that used to come, you know, outside of the newspaper business. So, probably came and I think he was in the Japanese Association, here, too. S So he was - you would say he was an influential member of the GT Of the community, more or less. Yes. S Did your mother talk about what -who was important in the community. In the early days? GT Ah. Not so much. We'd never talk in that way, I guess. So. She wasn't that active. She may have been a little strict but she was more on the quiet side. She wasn't too active. S Was she active in the church. GT Yes. S Did they have-- GT They had women's organizations I noticed in the church when they had the 50th anniversary, it has her as officers and that sci guess in the church. S Now, when did they start the church here. The Christian Church. Do you know. GT I was looking for the book but I couldn't find it. S I would like to know -you said they were Charter members. What does that mean? GT Oh. Let's see. When they-- I think they were one of the first ones, likes Mrs. Hashimoto and my-mother and several others, who were the original - When they ~arted this church, they were all the first members. And then when they built that church, they were all one of the |
