Atiya Secunderabad Club Hyderabad, India My dear Aziz: Thank you for your gracious letter of March 21st. I have just returned from three months in the Trucial States, in Dhofar with the Sultan, in Djakarta with President Suharto, in Bali, and returned by way of Sydney. I will be leaving again almost immediately. I haven't the slightest idea whether I will be in Honolulu or not when you arrive. In any case, my secretary, Mrs. Helen Ancona, will be very happy to take you and your lovely wife to lunch and show you my office and my Arab penthouse. I only hope that I can be here myself, but it's just too far in advance for me. I've got a half a dozen honorary degree commencement addresses to do in late May and early June. So, I will be in the United States definitely then. After that, I go on to get my Ph. D. from the University of Ghent and Brussels and put together a Spanish Hotel on the Spanish coast and also one in Switzerland. Probably then I will head on down to Southeast Asia as I am entering the oil field in Indonesia. Again let me compliment you on your latest book on Eastern Christianity. It was magnificent.' I am hard at work on my book on Jesus which I know you will enjoy very mich. I would be very interested to hear how life was in Egypt. Your Sinai-Arabic volumes will be of tremendous importance and I am eagerly awaiting them. When in Japan, if you could contact His Royal Highness, Prince Mikasa, the youngest brother of the Emperor Hirohito and who is Professor at the Women's Christian College, give him my greetings. I know he would be very happy to see you if you can get word through to him. |
