These two projects have kept Wendell extremely busy in recent months, and at the present time we are working very hard to complete all the legal paper work in order to get the drillinj program initiated shortly after the first of the year. I am enclosing some clippings covering these concessions, which I am sure you will find of interest. Your trip to the Congress during January, to be held in Australia, should be very interesting, and I know Wendell would like very much to attend; but I doubt if he will be able to. We first heard about this from Dr. Bayly Winder and Dr. Alex Melamid of the University of New York* when we were in New York during July, and know that there will be a very impressive gathering and much will be learned and gained through attendance. I trust that your entire trip will be very successful. Wendell looks forward to making a trip down into Oman shortly after the first of the year, after he finishes his business in the Far East, in order to see the new young Sultan, Qaboos bin Said. Wendell has, of course, known Qaboos since he was a very young child, and has played a very influential part in his upbringing and educational background. Wendell had had an appointment to meet with the Sultan Said last June, which had to be canceled due to his very serious illness. This will be his first opportunity, since then, to visit Oman. It is our understanding that the Sultan Said is doing very well in London and all goes well for Oman, since the overthrow in June. Again, very sincere thanks for your interest in Wendell, and for taking the initiative in getting the wheels into motion for an appearance at the University of Utah.
