I have been traveling extensively in the Far East and have just returned to Honolulu. I am leaving for Korea in a few days, where I have just won after heavy competition a fifteen-million acre oil concession in the South China Sea I will be going to Korea to sign the official documents and finalize all other matters. I have absolutely no idea if I will be in Honolulu when you come through, but my delightful secretary, Helen, would be more than pleased to do the honors and entertain you, showing you my office in Waikiki and my Arab penthouse at Diamond Head. I only hope I can be here. Whether I will be able to attend the International Orientalist Congress meeting at Canberra on January 3-13, 1971, I do not know at this time. I have no idea where I will be at that time, and if invitations are necessary, I have not received one. |
