Show Prof. Aziz S. Atiya (Cont'd) Aug. 3rd Page 2 I am flying to Mexico City tonight, I will be there a few days then I am going on to California. As I mentioned to you before, if there is anything you want me to do at the University of California, you must send me instructions. Because not knowing the details of the situation it is very hard to help you unless I know exactly what we're trying to do. I will in any case mention you and your work in the highest possible terras to President Robert G. Sproul, of the University, and to the various Regents. And I will lay the strongest ground work for your future activities in that regard. I would be very grateful if you would send me the press cuttings and the Wendell Phillips Dodge testimonial. Everything is moving ahead beautifully with regard to my Dhofar oil project and I will have a major expedition in the field by the latter part of September, and I am planning to accompany it at least for the first part of their work. I have written to President Naguib and informed him of my visit with President Eisenhower and the letter is being sent through the courtesy of the Egyptian Ambassador in Washington. I do not believe we have completely lost out as yet with regard to the honorary degrees etc from Alexandria University, and I still think in the near future probably something can be worked out. Again my very grateful thanks and appreciation to you for all of your wonderful efforts in my behalf, and do let me hear from you very soon. My best personal wishes and greetings. ^In^erely, W end el 1 Dear Professor Atiya: Greetings - Wendell left before he had a chance to sign this, so I am taking this opportunity to send my greetings and hope this finds you in the very best of health. I will sign this for Wendell. Sincerely, Eileen |
