Show 2 3 / >/ 7- 1789 LANIER PLACE, NORTHWEST WASHINGTON 9, D.C. October lk, 1965 Dear Aziz, The news that you have recovered from a major operation would be completely good except that I am sorry to learn that you had to have it done. Further good news is that you are coming to Washington later this month. Katharine is visiting in Asheville, N. C , so I am alone and there is a bedroom waiting for you in the apartment and a maid to give you breakfasts and any other meals you can conveniently share with me, all this provided you can walk up the three flights of stairs. You are invited and you will be most welcome. I realize that there is more business at meetings than in the sessions, and that you may need to be available. So do what you feel best for you. At any event, I do hope to catch at least a glimpse of you. I am at the LC every day, ST 3-0^00, Ext. h-07. Home: CO 5-1175- My association with Pratt Institute as Research Associate in Near Eastern Culture began with the Government contract to conduct and publish the inquiry in which you and many other scholars have assisted. Since that appointment, Pratt Institute, which has the second largest school of architecture In the country (and one of the very best) has inaugurated a Center for Near Eastern and Tropical Architecture, an enterprise in which the UN is taking an active interest and in which I put an occasional finger. I understand the Pratt appointment is at my pleasure, which I imagine will be for some years to come. My affectionate greetings to Lola and to you, in which Katharine would join were she present.
