Show /ft\ i/f-tf JudanS,51969 Monsieur Paul Khayat Librairie Khyat rue al-Bamrah Beirut, Lebanon Bear Monsieur Paul 2 It was a real pleasure to have a visit with you last March, and I look forward to seeing you again nesct Fall when I pass through Beirut. As you may remember, you introduced to me Mr. Fouad Hatouk who showed me his excellent collection. Owing to certain untoward circumstances * I had to- get back to America directly without speaking personally to those whose imagination might have been fired by the deal. Failing this, however, I have written to a friend who may possibly be interested in it. At any rate, I shall seize every opportunity to promote the collection wherever possible. The real object of this letter is to let you know that most of my book acquisitions in Beirut have safely arrived, but hitherto not a single parcel of my purchases froa you has been received - neither the official at my address in the library or my private selelction at horn®, four men may have taken their time to send the parcels on the understanding that I might be late coming to America. Would you therefore be good enough to expedite the despatch of those selections if, God forbid, they have not been mailed registered as agreed until now? It is my urgent responsibility to submit my accounts to the University, and 1 cannot do that before checking the books received according to the receipted lists. Mow let me thank you in anticipation and I truly trust that the books are already on the way. It will be a pleasure to hear from you at your earliest convenience of the dates and manner of their despatch. Looking forward to seeing you in the autumn and with kindest remembrances. Very sincerely, Aziz S. Atiya ASA:ec |
