Show The Institute of International Salih Necdet Ok Studies, 27 East 13 th. 3t. Apt. 2 D The Middle East Center, New York, N. Y., 10003 The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah. November 28, 1966 Dear Sir, I arrived in America on August 22, 1965 to begin a contract with Princeton University as a Lecturer on the Turkish language and Cataloguer/ Bibliographer in their library. My contractual obligations were completed and my work finished hy June, 1966. Desiring to remain longer in America in order to gain more practical experience in yonr libraries, I then accepted a position offered by New York University. The contract is for six months, but the University has indicated the intention of extending it an additional six months. The work is most enjoyable, but I am not too happy in the New York area. For this and additional personal reasons, I am thinking of making a change. I have a copy of the Middle East Area Study Program at American Colleges and Universities in 1964-1963 published by the Information Services, and am inquiring into Universities active in the Turkish language of the possibility of a position on the library staff. I am a graduate of Ankara University with a B.A. degree in Language and History - Geography from the Faculty of Library Science. For six years, partly while at the University, I worked in the Turkish National Library, 1958-1964. In the hope that I might be of some value to you, would you please send me an application form. Thanking you in advance for your courtesy, I remain, Sincerely Yours j Salih Necdet Ok |
