Atiya McGiff ord Hall 99 Claremont Avenue New York, New York Dear Dr. Atiya: Pursuant to our long-distance conversation, I am happy to confirm the provisions of a suggested agreement on the Patten lectureship. The lectureship provides for a series of six lectures, of an hour in length, at weekly intervals, to a general audience of students and staff. The lectures are to be submitted in publishable form at some mutually agreeable date after they have been delivered, for purposes of publication by the Indiana University Press. Th& Press will tender you a separate contract on the manner of sharing the royalties. The period of appointment is to extend from approximately mid-February to the close of March 19^7, during which the lecturer will be in residence in Bloomington, except for such periods as are agreed upon. During this period the lecturer will participate in the life of the university community and make himself available for a reasonable number of discussion groups, special talks, and the like. The dates for the six lectures, as tentatively suggested, are February 13, 20, 27, March 3, 10 and 17. The honorarium will be |$000 flat, all expenses of travel, lodging and the like to be borne by the lecturer. |
