Union Theological Seminary, Correspondence of Aziz Suryal Atiya, dated 17 August 1956. Pages 1 and 2) A two-page typewritten letter to Dr. Atiya from John H. Mueller, Chairman of the Patten Scholarship Committee, dated August 17, 1956, inquiring whether Dr. Atiya would be interested and available for a Visiting Professorship for 1 semester at Indiana University, sponsored by a Patten Scholarhip. Details of the services required, honorarium and other perquisities of the posiiton are included along with the comment, "President Wells, Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Ralph Cleland, and Professor Grimm, Chairman of the Department of History heartily concur in this invitation". Note of Interest: This letter to Dr. Atiya is addressed to him c/o The Library of Congress, Washington 25, D.C. |
