Show Wesleyan College at Macon, Georgia-the oldest chartered college for women in America-was the scene of Phi Mu's founding. Phi Mu is now ninety-eight years old-the second oldest secret organization for women in the country. In our seventy-one chapters throughout the United States, the high ideals and traditions of the Mother Chapter remain unchanged; as do, also, the insignia and the rituals. Achievements of the years are the quarterly publication; the healthmobile, operating in the state of Georgia among its less fortunate people; the annual scholarship gift to Wesleyan; the scholarship loan fund for our junior, senior, and graduate students; several fellowships; the International Study grants to foreign students; and toycarts operating in children's wards of hospitals throughout the United States. One of the oldest sororities on the "U" campus, Phi Mu has found its place among the many activities offered. Actively particpating we, the Phi Mus', support campus functions with enthusiasm and zest. President |
