There was such an abundance of food that t he early pioneers never wanted for anything. Tomatoes, cabbage, celery, lettuce and cucumbers. The first implements were a plow and a harrow, and they were homemade. The farm implements were left behind. They were not purchased. The first and only industry was and is coal mining. None. Never saw any buffalo or hunted wild game. Fish, deer and some wild goats in Buck, Deep, Dry, Panther and Spring Canyons • Never used SJJ.Y of the wild plant l ife. Can't recall. Unknown. Unknown.
