Abstract |
Pilot-scale testing of retrofit technologies has shown reductions of over 50% for NOx emissions from two pre-New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) boiler types. Scaling criteria used resulted in closely matching baseline (typical uncontrolled) NOx levels of utility boilers. Test limitations were not significant and modeling is being used to compliment and extend the results for full-scale design. No major operational consequences of the retrofit technologies are forseen. U.S. Deparment of Energy (DOE) sponsored Clean Coal Demonstration projects are underway for both technologies. |
