Johnson was born in Illinois, raised in Arizona, and has lived in Utah since 1983. A graduate of Arizona State University, in 1987 he received a M. S. degree in History from Utah State University, where he was a Presidential Fellow. He has been a schoolteacher, a national park ranger, a museum curator, and is currently director of USU's nationally recognized Utah History Fair program. In 1995 he received the " Friends of the Humanities Award" from Governor Mike Leavitt and the Utah Humanities Council. Robert E. Parson is University Archivist at Utah State University and is the author of A History of Rich County, also a part of this series. Daniel A. Stebbins received a M. A. in History from Utah State University, served at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, and has worked with other museums in Oregon, Wyoming, Utah, and North Carolina.
