Show FIRE! FIRE! A sudden column of smoke in this dry countr y - especially during such a drought - is a smoke signal for "grab a shovel and run, not walk!" But before we at the Mission saw the black smoke from Leona's shade, made of dry branches, and her tar-paper shack, the five children who had been left home alone had begun their rescue work.
