Show Our Heartiest Christmas Greetings Go To All Our Friends and Benefactors! It is our fervent prayer that God's richest bles$ing may descend upon you all. Every , evening throughout the year, before we disperse from our Evening Prayer in the Church, we offer our intercessions for you, but as we come to the festival of joy, when the whole world gives thanks for the great Gift to Mankind, which is God taking Human Nature into Himself, we most particularly desire that everyone of you may share the joy that is ours in serving the Navajo People, and bringing to them the Good News of NOEL - Emanuel - God with us. RAIN - DEER IslINCE OUR last Newsletter a few spec-tacular events must be shared with you. We had cried about the drought. No rain for full two years - except slight sprinkles that scarce laid the dust. Our prayers for rain seemed to receive the answer "Not yet my children" - until the first of October. Our weekly trip to Aneth had to be omitted, as the washes were running high and trails washed away and impassable. During the deer season weather was for the most part ideal, but towards the end came more and more rain. Before and after All Saints' Day came deluges; even our monthly trip to Oljeto was impossible - lakes covered what had been desert - until a week after our regular announced dates. Deer season was the best in our history. As loyal supporters of the State of Utah, and its Fish and Game Department, we have every year bought a number of licenses, and hopefully put in a few days, as we could spare them from our work, in the mountains. This year, for the first time, we were able to fill our licenses - 13 head - and our deep-freeze. Sounds like a lot of meat, and it must have felt like a lot of meat for Brother Juniper to prepare for the freezing, but when you think of well over 2 thousand meals each month, it will not be too much. If it lasts until Christmas, we shall be fortunate. |
