Sterling of Washington, District of Columbia, party of the second part, WIHiiESSETH:-- • "That the parties- of the first part on behalf" of the said White River, Uintah and Uncompahgre Bands of Ute Indians, hereby. contract with, retain and employ the party of' the second part as their attorney in the matters hereinafter mentioned, subject to- the approval of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs and the Secretary of the Interior pursuant to Section 2105 of the Revised Statutes of the United States-- It shall be the duty of said, attorney to advise and represent the said White River, Uintah and uncompahgre Bands of Ute Indians in connection with the enactment, of such legislation as may be deemed necessary in establishing, settling or recovering any and all just claims which they may have against the Government-, of ' the United States, or otherwise.
