Show PfffP 2. fc^rte cernod. People sometime place their confidence in other people too quickly and they disappoint them. For that reason it makes us all more cautious. But regardless of that situation I be-liove that you people realise that you oannot get anywhere with your tribal affairs without an organisation of thio kind who will servo you regardless of whether I on here or sofflobody else lo hero. Through tho organisation of this Business Committee we will get things started and should another man cone In here as your Superintendent matters can go right ahead without any delay whatever, whereas, without a committee of tliie kind should a new man come in hero as your Superintendent ho knows nothing whatever of your matters, what has boen going on or what Is going on. Row as I have said beforo I consider tho duties of you gentlemen to be about as serious an obligation as you have ever undortaken. Several have come to m© and wanted to know if it is necessary to select the two nen out of the six men who are hero this afternoon. It is not. Rhon tho time comes I want oaoh band to get off to themselves and select the best men they have to represent them in handling their tribal affairs. How thon if there Is anything about this we want to talk about let us talk it over and get It clear in our minds before wo go any further. Thio committee will bo called together by tho Superintendent by letter when any matters come up and the lotter will state Just what the object of the mooting will be. These letters will always bo sent out to tho members of the committee In tine for them to discuss the matter with the leading men of the band. Dick Wanrodes, Uintah Band}-I am in favor of this committee because we will know where we are all the time in these matters through thio committee, I think we should select our best men for this oomraittee, tho ones we can depend upon. John Yesto, V'hiteriver Bond;-R'ill it bo poosiblo for all of us to council here to discuss any of these mattero or Just the Business Committee? Superintendent Tidwell: If at any time mattero eorao up of a tribal nature tho matter should be token up with-tho President of the Committee and he will confer with me then I will make a eall for the Business Committee to conveno and discuss the matter. Only the Business Consnittee would be necessary to meet with ta©. Beforo tliis organisation can bo made official so that it VTIII be reoognisod by the Commissioner of Indian Affaire and the Secretary of tho Interior, and will be binding with the tribe, this committee that is here now will . avo to pass a resolution, stating what the purpose of tho committoo lo and what the oonmittee really; Is. I have written up a resolution that I am going to havo read to you and if there io anything to bo taken out or added to this resolution I want to hear from you.
